GILBERT, Ariz. – Jace Bacon will look to take knowledge and experience from his Radical Cup North America efforts in 2023 and put it to good use as he contests this weekend's USF2000 Presented by Continental Tire doubleheader event on the Streets of Toronto.
Bacon will return with Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) to pilot the #7 USF2000 car in the penultimate event weekend of the 2024 season. Bacon, who began his USF2000 campaign in June at Road America, has shown improvement in each round. A street race will be a new challenge for the rookie, but some experience on the track could help his cause. The 18-year-old competed last year in a Radical Cup car on the Streets of Toronto temporary circuit, where he scored three third-place trophies in the Pro 1340 class.
“It’s beneficial to have knowledge of the Toronto street course,” explained Bacon. “It will still be a challenge going from a Radical to an open-wheel car, not to mention the incredible talent on the USF2000 grid. Luckily, I have some speedy teammates who have a lot of knowledge of the track in a USF2000 car and a great team behind me, so it’ll be a team effort for the #7 car this weekend.”
Bacon and the rest of the USF2000 Presented by Continental Tire grid will hit the track Friday for a single practice session followed by the first of two qualifying sessions. Saturday morning will see qualifying two, followed by race one in the afternoon. A second race on Sunday morning will complete the only Canadian stop on the schedule.
