Jack Jeffers led the EA Squad with two dominating wins at Mid-Ohio LEXINGTON, Ohio – Exclusive Autosport took to the 2.258, 13-turn Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this past weekend with a standout team performance. All three of the team’s USF2000 drivers - Jack Jeffers, Lucas Fecury, and Evan Cooley - delivered impressive performances across the tripleheader event. Jeffers earned his second and third wins of the season, while Fecury scored his career best finish in fourth place in Race 3. Cooley rebounded after a tough qualifying session with a sixth-place finish in Race 2. On the strength of his double-win weekend, Jeffers is now tied for the championship lead and has the outright position in a tie-breaker with three wins.
“I first have to thank the entire EA crew for all of their efforts not only at Mid-Ohio, but leading up to the event,” said Michael Duncalfe, Co-Owner and CEO. “The boys built a brand-new car from the ground up between the two events for Jack and it rolled off the trailer perfectly. I am incredibly proud of Jack. He had a tough weekend at Road America and came back more focused than ever. That is evident with his two wins and three podiums over the weekend. A massive shout out to both Lucas Fecury and Evan Cooley who battled hard all weekend, setting top times throughout the sessions and truly showed how strong (and equal) the EA cars are across the board. A huge thank you to Louis, Zach and Braden for everything they do on the technical side for our drivers.”
The opening race of the tripleheader took place Friday afternoon with Jeffers starting off-pole, Fecury in the sixth position and Cooley in 14th. Jack immediately went into attack mode and took the lead on Lap 3 in Turn 4. The move included minor contact on the corner exit, and Jack received a two-position penalty as a result, which he served on a subsequent caution, dropping him back to third. He would continue to fight, making the same pass on the same driver to finish second. Lucas was also on the move, immediately advancing to fourth, and after some hard racing, he would finish sixth. After an uncharacteristic qualifying effort that left Evan deeper in the field for the green flag, he pushed hard all race long, finishing in the 11th position.
The drivers would take to the track again on Saturday afternoon for Race 2. Jeffers capitalized on a chaotic start and took the lead early, holding off fierce challenges from Caleb Gafrarar and Teddy Musella. After pulling out to a six-second lead, a caution came out, grouping everyone back together. Jack got a great restart and held off the tough competition that applied pressure for the rest of the race, winning his second race of the season, tightening up the championship standings. Fecury ran strongly and finished in the top-five once again, continuing his upward trajectory. Cooley fought from the 12th starting spot and improved to sixth, showing resilience and race craft in a tightly contested field.
The final event of the weekend started bright and early Sunday morning, right before the INDY NXT race. Jack rolled off for the third time in the second position. He executed a brilliant pass on Lap 3 to take the lead and paced most of the race, fending off title rival Thomas Schrage to take his third win of the season and moving into a tie for the championship lead. With more wins taking the tiebreaker, Jack sits atop the standings. Fecury started sixth and delivered his best drive of the season, finishing fourth while battling in the lead group throughout the entire race, showing that a podium finish is within his grasp. Cooley started in 12th place and finished by rounding out the top-10, most notably setting the fastest lap of the race, earning an extra championship point in the process.
Exclusive Autosport now heads to the Honda Indy Toronto next week with serious momentum and the championship lead. With Jeffers in peak form and Fecury and Cooley building on their strengths, the team is poised for a successful final stretch of the season.
