Canadian driver continues development path with step up from USF Juniors
THOROLD, Ont., Canada – Canadian driver Leonardo Serravalle is set to make his USF2000 Presented by Continental Tire debut this weekend at Road America, joining Exclusive Autosport for his first of two confirmed USF2000 appearances this season as the young driver continues preparing for the next step in his open-wheel racing career.
Serravalle has spent the early parts of the 2026 season competing in the USF Juniors Championship, where he has steadily improved throughout the year and established himself as a consistent frontrunner. While he will continue his USF Juniors campaign, the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the USF2000 car provides an important step toward his goal of moving up the open wheel ladder full-time in 2027.
The Road America event comes at an ideal time for the Niagara Falls native, who recently completed a successful test with Exclusive Autosport at the iconic Wisconsin circuit. The additional seat time allowed Serravalle to become familiar with the USF2000 machinery and build confidence ahead of his first race weekend in the series.
After a strong start to his USF Juniors season, Serravalle is eager to embrace the challenge of competing against some of the top young drivers in the USF2000 Championship.
“I'm really excited for this opportunity with Exclusive Autosport,” said Serravalle. “The USF2000 car is a big step forward from what I've been racing this year, but the test at Road America gave me a lot of confidence and helped me learn the car. Road America is an incredible track, and getting the chance to race here in USF2000 is something I've been looking forward to for a long time. The goal is to learn as much as possible, gain experience and make the most of every session throughout the weekend."
As Serravalle continues his climb through the open-wheel ranks, the Road America weekend marks another important milestone in the young Canadian's development and a glimpse at what could be next in his racing career.
The race weekend will begin with testing on Thursday, before practice and qualifying sessions take place on Friday. Saturday will feature a doubleheader race day, while the third and final race of the weekend will be contested on Sunday.
