Dawsonville, GA – VRD Racing is excited to announce the return of Thomas Schrage to the team for the 2025 USF2000 Presented by Continental Tire season. The 19-year-old joins VRD Racing after an impressive stint during the final three rounds of the 2024 season, where he secured three pole positions and two podium finishes. Schrage’s performances not only demonstrated his raw speed but also his consistency and potential to be a serious contender for the 2025 title.

Schrage, who previously competed in select rounds of the USF2000 Championship, quickly made his mark with VRD Racing. His debut with the team was met with immediate success, including a podium at his home track of Mid-Ohio and a string of pole positions in the closing races. Schrage hopes to carry this momentum with the VRD team into the 2025 season.

“I’m pleased to return to VRD Racing for the 2025 USF2000 Championship season!” said Schrage. “We ended 2024 on a great note together, and I’m ready to roll into the season ahead with great aspirations. I want to thank Dan Mitchell for the opportunity to join him and the team for the upcoming full season, as well as my sponsors who make it all possible: Doug Mockett & Company, Airport Electric Service, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati, and the Team USA Scholarship.”

Schrage's journey to this point has been remarkable. He is no stranger to success, having won the 2022 Formula Race Promotions F1600 Championship before stepping up to USF2000 in 2023 for a handful of races. His racing pedigree is further bolstered by his involvement with the Team USA Scholarship, which has supported many promising American drivers on their paths to higher levels of motorsport.

Schrage proudly represented the Team USA Scholarship at the renowned Formula Ford Festival in England, finishing an impressive fourth place at Brands Hatch. His participation in this program has been a pivotal part of his development, helping him gain international experience and refine his racecraft in some of the most competitive environments.

VRD Racing is confident that the combination of Schrage’s experience and the team’s resources will make them formidable contenders in 2025.

“Really happy to have Thomas back with VRD!” said VRD Racing’s Dan Mitchell. “He has shown great potential in his short term with us. Clearly, we have one goal: to use his wealth of experience and our momentum to have a run at the 2025 championship.”
